Repair or replace

Check the breaker or the outlet under the sink

Run cold water while it grinds, and keep grease, bones, coffee grounds and fibrous peels like celery out of it. Most disposals that fail early were fed one of those.

Why does my disposal hum but not spin?

Something is jammed between the plate and the housing. Turn it off at the switch and never put a hand inside. If the reset button does not free it, call us.

Why is my disposal leaking from the bottom?

A leak from the bottom of the unit usually means the seals inside have failed, and that means replacement. A leak at the side is often a loose connection we can fix.
